For many years, the Faculty of Economics and Management at Van Hien University has actively implemented innovative teaching methods based on the Learning by Doing approach. This method enables students not only to acquire theoretical knowledge but also to engage in hands-on practice and apply what they learn to real business contexts.
In the Product Development course, students are divided into groups and assigned to develop new product ideas based on real market needs of businesses. The learning process closely simulates actual product development in enterprises and includes key stages such as:
‑ Idea generation
‑ Prototype design
‑ Product pricing
‑ Consumer testing and surveys
‑ Developing strategies for launching new products into the market
Through this experiential learning approach, classes become more engaging, dynamic, and easier to visualize. Students learn effectively through observation, analysis, hands-on practice, and reflection on real-world outcomes, which helps them retain knowledge more deeply and sustainably.
Instead of merely studying product-related theories, students participate in real-world projects, applying marketing knowledge to create and develop new products. This direct experiential learning fosters creative thinking, flexibility, teamwork skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to real business environments.
By integrating theory with practice, the course not only delivers academic knowledge but also inspires creativity and innovation, equips students with essential professional skills, and prepares them to confidently respond to market trends - building a solid foundation for their journey to “reach beyond boundaries and thrive in the global marketplace.”
