Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping how businesses operate, how products are sold, and how people work every day. For E-commerce students in particular, and for all students of the School of Economics & Business Administration in general, this is both a challenge and an opportunity: every profession is being "rewritten" by technology, and those who prepare early will have a real head start.
So what exactly do our students need to build a truly solid career launchpad after graduation?
1. A strong, continuously updated professional foundation
Core knowledge in economics, management, marketing, and e-commerce remains the essential root. But in the AI era, knowledge can become outdated quickly. Students need to proactively keep up with industry trends, especially how AI is transforming consumer behavior, e-commerce platform operations, customer service, and supply chain optimization.
2. Digital literacy and the ability to work alongside AI tools
This is what clearly separates students who keep pace with the times from those who fall behind. For E-commerce students, proficiency in customer data analytics tools, automated advertising, AI-powered customer service chatbots, AI-assisted content optimization, and online store management on digital platforms is no longer just a "bonus" — it is fast becoming a baseline requirement.
3. Soft skills – the human edge AI cannot replace
Machines can process data, but the ability to communicate, persuade customers, work in teams, think critically, and solve problems flexibly still requires a human touch. These are precisely the skills that help students create differentiated value that technology struggles to replicate.
4. Real-world experience through internships and projects
Classroom knowledge becomes truly meaningful when tested against real working environments. Students are encouraged to actively pursue internships, academic competitions, startup projects, and business partnership programs organized by the School and the University to gain hands-on experience and build a personal portfolio.
5. Building connections and professional networks
Career opportunities don't come from job applications alone — they also come from the relationships built during one's studies: with lecturers, partner businesses, alumni, and classmates. Actively participating in talks, seminars, and career fairs is an effective way to expand this network.
6. A mindset of lifelong learning
AI will continue to evolve and reshape the labor market for years to come. That's why a willingness to keep learning, adapt, and continuously upgrade oneself is, in the end, the most sustainable career launchpad of all.
📢 Walking this journey together with our students
To give students a more realistic and comprehensive view of career opportunities in the age of AI, the School of Economics & Business Administration at Van Hien University will host a talk titled "Career Opportunities in the AI Era," bringing together technology experts, business representatives, and alumni who have built successful careers in the digital field.
This will be a valuable opportunity for students — especially those majoring in E-commerce — to listen, ask questions directly, and find the right direction for their own future.
