Business Administration students at Van Hien University are eagerly registering for the Business Semester to quickly gain practical experience at businesses.
According to surveys at businesses, most newly graduated students are well-behaved, kind, and diligent, but they often lack a bit of independence, confidence, and decisiveness in their work. Through discussions with businesses, Van Hien University has gradually improved the quality of its training by applying diverse training models to suit student needs and meet the expectations of businesses for quality personnel. After more than a year of research and analysis of the current situation of students, Van Hien University has gathered feedback based on students' actual needs and, according to the reported data, has officially launched the "Business Semester" for third and fourth-year students to help them become more proactive in building a foundation of knowledge in their chosen field of study, preparing them for practical experience in businesses after graduation.
From 2025, Van Hien University has conducted surveys on the concerns of students and organized relevant professional meetings to gather opinions and finalize the content for the issuance and implementation of the "Business Semester" program for full-time university students in all majors/specializations.
Within this framework, the Business School of Van Hien University has also held continuous meetings and agreed on training content to help its students better understand themselves and develop an open strategic mindset for their future direction. The goal is to provide each student with many choices and approaches while still achieving their academic goals on schedule and in line with the university's orientation, so that Van Hien University students can confidently enter the workforce after graduation.
For students, the passion for part-time work to gain experience and independence is a priority. However, students are also very concerned about graduating on time with solid professional knowledge to confidently enter the workforce in influential positions, helping them develop work habits, work pace, and ensure practical competence and results in the workplace. With these concerns in mind, the Business Semester is both a learning program with useful, practical content unique to businesses, and a system of real-world knowledge to help students feel more confident in their knowledge base and confidently enter the business world. The Business Semester also combines theory and practical experience at businesses, delivering tangible results while remaining within the academic framework, helping students clearly and scientifically navigate their own career paths.
The diverse and in-depth content at businesses makes the Business Semester very engaging and intriguing for students as they participate in individual training related to their chosen field of study. With this special Business Semester, the practical content is clearly synchronized and consistent with the theoretical content taught in class. Students must pass the basic courses, compulsory courses, elective courses, gain industry experience, complete basic internships, professional internships, and graduation internships to be eligible to register for the Business Semester.
In the Business Semester, students gain real-world work experience and tangible results. They create real quality for the business using their own abilities, experiences, and accumulated knowledge from their previous life, studies, and training, applying them to enhance their skills within the company. While lasting three months like the "graduation internship" course, the Business Semester allows students to experience and participate in practical work at businesses relevant to their field/major, working daily during regular business hours. In other words, the Business Semester is a stepping stone for students to confidently enter the internship phase at a company for about the first year (depending on the regulations of each company) or confidently enter the probationary period with faster results while still ensuring accuracy and brilliance thanks to the enthusiasm of the students' youth.
When students enter the Business Semester, the businesses also coordinate with the University to support professional content, helping students become more familiar with the business environment and develop the habit of adapting to different environments. This transitions from a learning environment where students are guided by carefully selected professors and receive in-depth instruction, which helps them become increasingly professional with each level of experience, to an environment where they proactively learn, connect, adjust, and regulate all issues and content. Students then help themselves improve, becoming better today than yesterday, and striving for greater self-improvement at each stage of their journey.
From such real-life examples, Van Hien University in general, and the Business School in particular, have contributed to creating more positive energy and positive emotions for students and their families, reassuring them about the quality of graduates and demonstrating that Van Hien University trains high-quality students who are highly valued by businesses.
